So we celebrated Valentines' Day a couple of days ago. Went to the trick eye museum at night on Friday. (More photos soon!) Pretty much slept in Saturday morning, and then went to Freeing SG for a couple of Escape room games. The outlet at Bugis+ closed down and we went to The Cathay instead. Played To Russia with Love (of which we were so close to completing!) and also The Shinobi (probably the first we completed!!) Somehow the rooms feel simpler than the ones that were at Bugis+. I enjoyed myself alot =) Following that, we went to NOX to try out dark dining for the very first time. It was a humbling experience. We were led into the pitch darkness by our blind host. Went I sat down, panic overwhelmed me and I could feel the onsets of one of my fits attacks. Had to scramble downstairs again to get my ever-reliable sunbreeze ointment. It struck me that it is very scary to be blind. The darkness was heavily claustrophobic and suffocating to me. The only comfort I could have was Buns' familiar voice and warm touch.
After some time, food came. Having something to occupy my thoughts calmed me down almost immediately. It was yummy! I especially liked how the unagi and foie gras went so well together, though I felt kinda guilty for enjoying it, knowing what ducks had to go through :( At the end of our dinner, our blind host reminded us to cherish our sight and to not take it for granted repeatedly. I certainly will, after the taste of fear I felt. It would be an experience I'd never forget... So incredibly humbling, with such a simple concept. It was a refreshing Valentine's Day experience. Though I didn't manage to surprise Buns, I think he appreciated it too.
